Physical and mechanical characterization

Our physical tests on raw materials are focused on particle size distribution according to laser defraction methods as well as the calculation of the specific surface area according to the BET method. We can also perform specialist tests such as electrophoretical measurements depending on ph-value.
Thermal characterisation is carried out using thermogravimetry (TGA/DTA) as well as dilatometry to calculate the coefficient of thermal expansion.
Our laboratory routinely carries out bend testing (RT and HT), tensile testing, static Young´s modulus, fracture toughness K1C (by the graduated notch method or by Vickers indentation).
